Because the inverter is part of the battery, a new solar and storage system needs fewer boxes, less wiring and one app. Tesla Powerwall 3 can also be added to a home that already has solar.

Tesla Home comes standard with Tesla Powerwall 3P. It coordinates solar, battery, EV charging and the grid through the day, and you can watch it all in the Tesla app.

Solar self-consumption
Daytime solar you would otherwise export is stored and used in the evening, when power costs the most.
Backup power
When the grid drops, Tesla Powerwall takes over automatically. With solar on the roof it keeps recharging through the outage.
Time-based control
On a time-of-use plan, the system charges when power is cheap and runs the house from the battery when it is not.
Tesla Powerwall 3P for three-phase homes
Larger homes and rural properties often have a three-phase supply. Tesla Powerwall 3P supports all three phases from a single unit, so a three-phase home no longer needs a bank of single-phase batteries.

Up to 20.4 kWp of solar input across four MPPTs, so it handles complex roofs with mixed orientations and shading. Works with new and existing solar.
All-weather durability
IP67-rated sealed enclosure for indoor or outdoor installation. Withstands rain, high humidity and up to 60 cm of flood water, and operates from -20°C to 50°C.
Backup ready
With Gateway, the system detects an outage, disconnects from the grid and switches to stored energy automatically, then reconnects when power returns.
10-year warranty
Backed by Tesla's 10-year warranty, with over-the-air software updates that keep improving the system over its life.

+Can Tesla Powerwall 3 be added to my existing solar?
Yes. It can be installed alongside an existing solar system as well as part of a new one. We assess your current inverter and switchboard first and tell you honestly which approach suits.
+I have three-phase power. Which Tesla Powerwall do I need?
Tesla Powerwall 3P is built for three-phase supplies and covers all three phases from one unit. We confirm your supply type during the site visit and recommend the right model.
+Will it run my whole home in a power cut?
Tesla Powerwall 3 is designed for whole-home backup. What it can run, and for how long, depends on your loads and how much solar you have, so we size the system around your actual usage.
+How many units do I need?
Most homes start with one. Storage can be expanded later, so we usually recommend sizing for today and leaving room to grow.
+Can it charge my EV?
Yes. With Tesla Wall Connector the car can charge from surplus solar, and we are Tesla certified for both, so one team installs and commissions the lot.
