Tronic electrician servicing a wall-mounted EV charger in an Auckland garage

EV Charger Repairs & Servicing

A dead EV charger means a car you can't drive. Tronic Electrical diagnoses and repairs EV chargers across Auckland and our wider North Island network — tripping breakers, chargers that won't start a session, WiFi and app dropouts, damaged cables and connectors, or units that have simply stopped responding.

We repair and service chargers we didn't install, too. As certified installers for Tesla, Evnex, Etrel, EO, Schneider and more — and operators of a managed charging network spanning five cities — our Master Electricians know the hardware and the back-end platforms, so we can tell you quickly whether a fault sits in the charger, the circuit or the network connection.

When a charger is beyond economic repair, we'll say so and quote a straight replacement — often upgrading you to a faster, smarter unit with dynamic load balancing on the same circuit, installed the same visit.

FAQs

Common questions.

+My EV charger stopped working — what should I check first?

Check the circuit breaker or RCD in your switchboard, and restart the charger if it has a power switch. If the breaker trips again or the charger still won't start a session, stop there and call us — repeated tripping usually points to a wiring or hardware fault that needs a licensed electrician.

+Can you repair a charger that another company installed?

Yes. We repair and service EV chargers regardless of who installed them. Our team works across Tesla, Evnex, Etrel, EO, Schneider and most other major brands daily, both as certified installers and as operators of a managed charging network.

+Is it better to repair or replace a faulty charger?

It depends on the fault and the age of the unit. Control board and connectivity faults are often worth repairing; physical damage or failures in older hardware usually aren't. We'll give you an honest assessment — and if replacement is the right call, a new charger typically installs on your existing circuit in a single visit.

+Do you offer servicing for commercial charging stations?

Yes — preventative maintenance is how public and workplace chargers stay online. We provide scheduled servicing, remote monitoring and call-out repairs for commercial and public charging infrastructure, including sites we didn't originally install.
